ravar? After attempting to change the world with his
advisory verses, thirumazhisai piran found that he was unable to attain any sort
of success. Further azhvar
continues to express his feelings in front of the lord himself. ?Oh My lord! Here in this world I find
everyone falling to the feet of lowly devathas for cheap results but rarely find
anyone who surrenders to your divine feet to obtain the ultimate joy (the land
of paradise). In earlier verses
azhvar expressed his grievances towards those people who strive for worldly
pleasures. Here azhvar expresses
his grievances towards the so called elevated souls who aspire not for attaining
the ultimate joy but for a temporary intermediate joy in the Land of svarga, by
performing various yaga yagnas. (amarar kadai nindRu) People stand in
queue in the footsteps of those lowly deities, with painful worshipping
procedures. (kazhal thozhudhu nAlum) Not one day
but they do the same process of prostrating the deities daily with no absolute
result. On the contrary, even if we
show our respect by just folding our hands in front of him emperuman considers
himself to be greatly indebted to us.
Just the utterance of the name ?Govinda? makes emperuman do everything
for us and ultimately feel for not doing enough. A single afflictive shout makes him rush
to the spot not worried about his state or
appearance. The outcome of prostrating these demigods,
the act that should actually be done under the divine feet of the all supreme
lord, emperuman without any demands
is:- (edainindRa enbaththarAvar) They will
not be blessed with the ?Siddha punyam? (archAvatara anubhavam, happiness
readily available) in this world nor will they be blessed with the ?moksha
sukam?(the ultimate bliss) instead they will be blessed with an intermediate
happiness of ?svarga sukam? (temporary joy in the land of svarga). What
foolishness! (pudainindRa neerOdha mEni nedumAlE)
Oh My Lord! Your divine beauty resembles the ocean that surrounds this
earth. The worldly pleasures are
enjoyed with eyes and our sense organs and hence are called pratyakshAnubhavam
(enjoyed directly). Whereas the
ultimate bliss the mokshAnubhavam is something beyond our imagination. ArchAvatara anubhavam (enjoying the
divine beauty of the lord in temples and houses in various forms and with
various names) is different from both the pratyaksha samsArAnubhavam and the
moksha/svargAnubhavam. This is both
enjoyed by our senses and also capable of removing all our miseries. The speciality of the archA roopam of
emperuman is that the divine beauty mesmerizes one and all. Not for any demands but just for the
sake of surrendering we can do all service to this lord but where am I to find
such people who fall to the divine feet of the lord for the very purpose of
surrendering to him and for nothing else? (To
