Shri:

Adieyn considers myself as one of the most benefitted one of being
member of these satsangams.

Adieyn would like to thank Shri.Soundarajan Desikan Swamin to be as
the spark for his intiative.

I was doing only my trikaala sandhyavandanam and nothing much is
known to me to qualify myself as a srivaishnava except my Acharyan
dhaniyan, Ashtaksharam, Dwayam, Chrama slokam and Thiruppaavai.

In fact I am eager to learn and recite various sloka, suktam and
prabandam - but due to loukeeka constraints I am also forced to learn
and spend most of my time towards my career enrichment. Just due to
this reason, I could not spend much time in learning these sacred
texts (of course finally it boils down to me, the one who
should find time by prioritising my needs!). With a vairagyam, I was
determined for the past few years to not to miss sandhyavandanam.

Right from those days, I am aware that I should perform 108 japa and
not 28. but for the reason of the time (since adiyen is saama vedin
and sishyal of HH Azhagiyasingar, I need to perform aachamanam twice
and pranayamam thrice as per my aacharyan's thiruvullam which made my
sandhyavandanam more lengthier) as sandhyavandanam for one period
extended beyond twenty minutes, I decided to do only 28 japa count.

Just after reading this thread, I decided myself to do 108 count on
saayam sandhya and for all three times during weekends as i could
spare more time. To my surprise I found performing 108 did not take
much time at all as I had thought. Now, I am performing 3
sandyavandanams with 108 gayathri japa and 108 ashtakshara mantram
japam. I would like to say a special thanks to shri.soundrajan
swamin and shri.S. Vijayaraghavan of NY ("Vijayaraghavan
Chakravarthy" <vijayaraghavan_s@...>) who seeded this thought in my
mind.

Now, adieyn is also preparing myself to learn pancha suktham and
divya prabandam.

But as you all know, this is a very steep learning curve and I would
like to know the learning sequence starting from the most mandatory
portions first and then progressing to the other at later stage.

At this outset, adieyn requests all the knowledgeable persons of
these sathsangams to guide me which part of these (pancha suktham,
divya prabandam and Vishnu sahasranamam) are to be learnt first.
Adiyen also expects more guidance in divya prabandam area as it is
the most voluminous of all?

Thanks,
Ramanuja dasan,
Narayanan
