Sri mathye Ramunujaya Namaha:-
Pranams to all, special dandavath praNamams to Sri Sadagopachar Swamin,
Irrespecitve of interpretations, we owe our gratitude to Sri Sadagopachar
Swamin for stimulating our thoughts. In this world of varied diversions, to
have time diverted to these divine topics, is indeed a great service to
mankind. This enough to keep the "fire of quest on" to be passed on to
generations down. My pranams swamin sir.
I must confess, I know nothing, even the langauge properly. But curiosity and
half-baked ness sometimes pushes man to state something. This ,urge
precisely,is what is pushing me to say something. my profound apologies for
errors and indulgence , in my notings. It is just to keep the healthy debate
going on and ultimately the Right people to declare the subject closed with
their valuable and punching remarks.
Just a few queries :-
Nammalavar , " Ulagam Unda Peru Vahya ..." the world itslef is left over of
lord or part of lord superme "Vasudev" ?
Peri alwar ," Vay Ul Vai agam ka inda Mada Nal lar ...." again the world (
seven andams) with the almighty "Kesavan".
His divine daughter, Mahalakshmi Swaroopi "Kothai", goes one step above the
rest. She envies anybody's intimacy with "Madhavan ". She has dedicated a
"Pathu" in Karpuram Na ru moo"?
The pathu explains everything. But more explicit are the lines :-
maathavanRan vaayccuvaiyum naaRRamum,
viruppuRRuk kEtkinREn sollaazhi veNsankE!
Now the final statement she makes, to whom does Sri Madhavan's "Vai ich Chu vai
" belongs to all, None can eat or consume it alone, So she says "
uNpathu solli lulagaLanthaan vaayamutham,
kaNpadai koLLil kadalvaNNan kaiththalaththE,
peNpadai yaarunmEl perumpoosal caaRRukinRaar,
paNpala ceykinRaay paancacan NniyamE! 8
.....
pothuvaaga vuNpathanaip pukkun^ee yuNdakkaal,
cithaiyaarO vunnOdu selvappe runcankE! 9
Note "Po-dhu vaha , generaly or commonly or definitely shared by all.
Says Sir Thondar Adi Podigal"
`vaanuLaa raRiya laakaa
vaanavaa!' enpa raakil,
`thEnulaan^ thuLapa maalaich
senniyaay!' enpa raakil,
Unamaa yinakaL seyyum
Unakaa rakar_ka LElum,
pOnakam seytha sEdam
tharuvarEl punitha manRE? (41)
Above all, is it right, if some one said, that what we consider most sacred is
"Sesham"
"Pithru Sesham "
Here again when we offer food to " Bramha-nas during Shardaham " before they
do pari-chay-chanam" we assure them that it is not plain food it is what is
offered to the lord , it said in Sanskrit or tamil depending upon their
lieniage to sampradhaya; the tamil meaning is
"Swami-ghal Adi-yen en-um ku-de-si-ku eLun-dharu-le........
Perumal , alwar acahariyal amudu sei-dha prasadh-thai .... vediya vat-rai
var-vailthu-kondu... "
"Sesha Vastram " etc.
Sorry again, if anything is misleading, I donot want to be a "Hitler's Minister"
While I know it is "
"Than Nen-jil thot-ri-na-they sol-ie ... i-dhu suth-ah upadesa Var-it-tahi
en-bar "Moorkar avar."
One intersting point, years (35 years) ago we had a driver at our house. a
staunch Murugan devotee he belonged to a different vargam. He used to utter his
own observations.
Once we were carrying the same Sri Parthasarathy's sakara pongal home in our
car. Huge quantity back,to be distributed to our relatives and friends.
I was taken aback when he said " Padhu Sir, u know what is Prasadam ,
" Pee-r-ar -ku it-tu un-num sa-dham prasadam"
Important , as most of us Know, in thirumalai we cannot take "thiru-thou-lai
even when it is given to us. ( It is not to be given to anyone, however many
archakas give it or push it in the palm of VIPS during sathumari:)
Because it does not have Lakshmi sambandham. That is why all of us rush to
"Panchami Theertham " to get perumal thiru thu lai after it has been offered to
Padmavathi after her thirumanjanam. Our elders used to keep that thulasi for
one whole year , before they replenish the stock the next year. I donot want to
waste your valuable time. However, volumes can be written on the significance
and the graunder of Panchami theertham , by swamin himself.
Padmanabha Dasan.
