Did I miss where to post my own replies?

Anyway, I first read The Moviegoer and Lancelot years ago and thought they were wonderful. Some time later (but still years ago!) I read The Thanatos Syndrome (correct title?) and thought it was one of the worst books I'd ever read. Totally unremarkable in any way. Couldn't believe this was Walker Percy. Anybody know what was going on with Percy at this point? Crisis of faith?

Anyway, Catholicism has much to recommend it with regard to supporting intellectual search, questioning, what's it all about, etc. etc. But obviously, wondering what it's all about does NOT guarantee a good book. Maybe that shouldn't be a surprise. Lynn

P.S. I went to UVa, which of course is not too far from UNC.

Anybody read Shirley Ann Grau? The House on Coliseum Street? My, but I do like New Orleans.
