I first read Percy, independent of my English studies, in the early '70's

He was easily my favorite living writer. He took the noblest thoughts of

western man and stuck them down into everyday life. The result was delight-

ful in a most disturbing way. As if Sartre were a Southern Catholic living

in Ohio reading Aquinas and partying on a golf course at midnight.

I love to read Percy.
