history of John C.Thomas: | Landed on June 6,
1944 in the second wave on Utah Beach with an engineering
unit. D-Day assignment was
to establish communication with the ships off-shore. After the break-out
from Utah Beach his squad was to construct or rebuild
communication lines. He carried
"survivor's guilt" the rest of his life. Shared his with his
sons in 1970. Shared with the Unofficial Archive of the U.S.
Army Signal Corps in in WWII by his son Bill Thomas, March,
2021.
