NCmusic
A great site to check out what's going on in and around the state,
whether it's a show you want to attend or book, a band you want to see or join, an instrument you're looking to buy
or sell--you get the idea. It's more on the loud and noisy
end of the music scale--i.e.., neither a jazz mecca nor an
old-time pickle barrel kinda site :)
^^^ RaleighMusic
I do
sometimes wonder why, over the last 5-10 years, more and more it
seems the people who are outside of Chapel Hill/Carrboro are
better versed on the music scene inside Chapel
Hill/Carrboro than the people who actually live here. Honestly, this site does focus on the Raleigh
scene, but they do a damned good job of tracking Triangle (and NC)
music in general.

OCAC
Orange
County Arts Commission The
main reason I use this site is to search their artist database for
blurbs and info on artists such as Rolly Gray and Sunfire. I
am under-utilizing the site. There's loads more good stuff
here. (Notice how qualifying "loads" as being
something "more" ("loads more") suddenly makes
a plural entity singular! How could anyone not luv
English!?)
^^^ DADA
Durham Association for Downtown
Arts, Inc. If
you've been wondering where all those "insert Durham artist
here" t-shirts came from, click on this link! Just as
with the OCAC site above, there's a wealth of information at the
DADA site pertaining to the full spectrum of artistic vision as
expressed by local artists. And here I am, just using it to
hunt down band links!
^^^ NCscene
More
'networking for the loud and noisy end of the music scene.
ncscene.com tends more to the metal/rock hue than the punk/emo,
spectrum-wise.
^^^ Lonely
Goat Conceived
as a springboard for fans of and performers within the local jam
band scene, Lonely Goat does not limit its connections to the jam
band genre. In fact, it has quite a comprehensive list of
local band links. No question about the primary interests of
the site, but I found plenty of good stuff here, of interest to me
(more than just links to local bands, even!), and I am not into the "jam" genre at all.
^^^ NCmetal
The place to go
when you're totally into metal, and that's all there is to it.

Underground
"If you are a local artist in the field of hip hop,
rap, turntablism, R&B, or production then this site may be able to help you. Connect
with others through the message boards, get yourself featured on the site, and pick up
useful tips on how to make your sound come off better."
