Concerning suggestions on teaching Greek to a committed group of
church people: consider William Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek,
Zondervan, 1993. It is very well organized, excellent at
demonstrating patterns and rules, has an accompanying workbook (which
has students translate from the New Testament almost from the start).
For those with computers he has parsing and vocabulary programs. For
teachers I believe he has other aids as well. If you have access to
the net, check http://www.teknia.com/teknia for more details. I have
been teaching myself Greek with these tools; I selected them after
examining many options in local libraries and seminary/college
bookstores.
