If you have a hard time understanding the discussions of linguistics in the
b-greek archives you might want to take a look at:
Trask, R.L.
A DICTIONARY OF GRAMMATICAL TERMS IN LINGUISTICS
London: Routledge, 1993 .
I picked up a copy at a used book store and it looks like a keeper.
R.L. Trask has done a number of other dictionaries related to language but
this one focuses specifically on grammar. Be for warned, Trask is one of
those people who bows down and prays four times a day facing MIT so you will
find a lot of Chomsky stuff in the book. Also you will not find a lot of
really esoteric schools of thought represented here. So it is a book that
you should see before buying since your favorite lingo might not be found
there.
It does look like it will be a good complement to David Crystal's works.
Trask's definitions are more extensive that what is found in Crystal's
glossary (Encyclopedia of Language) .
greetings,
Clay
