Jonah 2:4-7 in MT and LXX

I hope you'll forgive me the slightly off topic question.

Can anyone tell me how the differences between the MT and the LXX texts
of Jonah 2:4-7 are to be accounted for, especially the omission by the
LXX of the phrase "weeds surrounded my head"?

It is my understanding that the reason for this, as well as for the
transpositions in the LXX of what the LXX and MT have in common, is that
the LXX translator of Jonah was working from an edition of the Hebrew
text of Jonah that is different from what is found in the MT. Am I
correct in this?

Is there any relevant biblio on this mater?

Yours,

Jeffrey Gibson
