Richard,

If this is the sense of the Greek (I'm not fully convinced yet on that one),
the English would probably have to front the prepositional phrase.  The
result would still be literal, but in more accord with English grammar: "and
between the throne and the four living creatures [on the one hand] and the
elders [on the other], I saw a lamb standing..."
