[B-Greek] septuagint versions

I read a favorable but mixed review of and Jobes’ and Silva’s INVITATION
TO THE SEPTUAGINT, after I had already bought the book at Half-Price
Books. Regardless, the book has opened my eyes to the complexity of
Septuagint studies, which I will now always have in the back of my mind
when I compare the Hebrew text to the LXX rendering. Differences between
the LXX and the Hebrew are certainly not the simple issue I once thought
they might be. So, unless there is another book like this out there
that’s better, it might be good for others who, like me, do wish to
compare LXX renderings – esp. NT quotations – with the Hebrew to read
this book and get a deeper understanding of just what the LXX is, and
what’s involved in its study and use.
