I have learned the NGDA way (in Canada). Also, I
memorized the declensions not just by sight but by
sound pattern/rhythm. OS, OU, Wi, ON was learned
visually and by the sound patterns that I was taught.
When I SAY the declension as OS, ON, OU, Wi it doesn't
sound "right" to me and is very confusing (but only
because of the way I FIRST learned them). From what
I've seen, and I can't speak about Australia grammar
books, more than 90 percent of the grammars I have
looked at use the NGDA declension pattern. Seems to me
there would be some benefit for the grammarians to
standardize, one way or the other.
