That would make sense, but BDAG, 1053, s.v. FHMI, lists this form as BOTH
impft and 2Aor.???
In checking the analyticals, one lists it as 2Aor (Wigram), two call it
Impft (Mounce, Pershbacher), and one lists both parsings (Friberg).
I also just checked TLG for distribution. Here are some data (listed in
order of hits).
String search for EFHKA:
EFKA, 2x, Homer
EFHKAS, 3x, 5th C BC
EFHKAN, 2x, 3d C
EFHKA, 1x, 2d C
EFHKAN, 3x, 1 C. BC
EFHKAN, 3x, 1 C. AD
18 hits total
String search for EFHSA:
EFHSAN, 1X, 6th C BC
EFHSAS/-SAN/-SA/-SAMEN, 12x, 5th C.
EFHSAN/-SAS/-SA, 6x, 4th C
EFHSAMEN/-SAN, 5x, 3d C
EFHSAN, 3x, 1 C BC
EFHSAN, 3x, 1 C AD
30 hits total
Limited text search >EFH< = 9,268 hits from 8th C BC through 1st C AD.
So there's no question as to what is the preferred/normal form!
I'll be interested to hear more on this, but our email server is going down
in about 10 min. for a scheduled upgrade, so I won't be able to participate
actively until this afternoon--assuming that all goes as planned!
