I always have my first year students buy

Gingrich, F. Wilbur and Frederick William Danker,
editors Shorter Lexicon of the Greek New Testament. 2d
edition. xii, 222 p. 1965, 1983.

For second year I have them buy BDAG

I always order the UBS4th with the dictionary and I
have been known to, in a crunch, actually flip to it
(when my goes blank a.k.a. "senior moment.") but I
always let my students know that they need to consult
a "real" lexicon
