The similar verse in Revelation 17:8 supports the persons having
their names written in the book of life from the foundation of the
world, though there are some significant differences between the
two verses.

However, Robert Mounce prefers the Lamb being slain from the
foundation of the world in his commentary.

I like Carl's suggestion of: "whose name does NOT stand written in
the book of life of the Lamb that was slaughtered--has NOT stood
written EVER since the world was created."

If "from the foundation of the world" is thus to be idiomatically understood, that removes the problem of the interpretation that the elect had their names written in the book of life before God even created the world.

But if it is to be understood as "the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world," then that would, I think, support understanding it to mean that before God created the world, the Lamb was slaughtered as an eternal aspect of the Trinity, though it was only manifested before our eyes around 30 A.D.

Interpretation has theological implications here.
