Glenn, what you are referring to is what most grammarians call the "third
class" condition. In such a usage the protasis is introduced by EAN plus a verb
in the subjunctive mood. The verb in the apodosis can be present, future, or
aorist. A verb in the imperative mood is sometimes used. By their nature all
uses of the "Probable Future condition" involves the future, since the condition
is not yet met.
