A question that could help me:

how would someone best express something like the

"imperfective/continuative aspect" in ancient Greek.

As far as I know, the Greeks just referred to

O ENESTWS XRONOS,

which doesn't explain or really apply to

infinitives,subjunctives, optatives and imperatives.

TOUT' ESTIN:

APAREMFATOS EGKLISIS, UPOTAKTIKH EGKLISIS, EUKTIKH

EGKLISIS kai PROSTAKTIKH EGKLISIS.

So what would a good ancient replacement be that would reflect a

modern linguistic viewpoint?

We have the PARATATIKOS XRONOS for the Greek imperfect, and we

could perhaps coin a term based on SUNEXHS 'continual' as

SUNEXHTIKH QEA (thea) 'continuative view'.

But what would any like to suggest?
