Since I don't have this particular work, I attempted to find it on
Perseus. Either this is not from Strabo's Geography (I think it is
supposed to be), the passage is not quoted correctly, or there is a
problem with Perseus' search facility (a distinct pRossibility [yes, I
intended the "R" as indicating a combination of "possible" and
"probable"]). I really would like to see the entire passage before
attempting any comment. It does, however, appear to be indirect
discourse. See Smyth §2016 ff.
