I was in much the same spot you're in a couple of years ago, and bought 
Basics of New Testament Syntax.  After a while, I ended up wanting the 
unexpurgated version.  I would recommend that you go ahead and get 
GGBTB - you'll be happier with it in the long run.

Also, Mounce includes a summary of most of the grammar you /need/ from 
Wallace in an appendix of his reader, so you could probably forego a 
grammar altogether.
