That is, the use of the English word rest which we normally think of as cessation (a verb), is actually used 4 times in these 13 verses as a noun. The same noun that appears in Acts 7:49, but as a place where this rest takes place. Does this not mean that 4 times in Heb. 4:1-13 that the word rest should be actually translated and have the same syntax and significance as a place of rest that Acts 7:48 has?
No, since the referent of the "rest" spoken of in Hebrews is not that mentioned in Acts 7:48-49, but in Ps. 95 and the whole OT theme of what God will give to Israel if they remained faithful to him in their wilderness wanderings.
