Dear Arie,

The function of the MIN in Ps 65:4 may be comparative. The sins were
"too strong for me," or "stronger than me." That's how BDB takes it.

>After my earlier message about this use of EK, I found an instance of the
>Hebrew verb gabar (to be victorious) with min (litt. "from", here "over") in
>Ps 65: 4 ("Sins overwhelmed us"). I did not write a new message, because I
>thought the sense of gabar was not straightly "to be victorious".
>
>Now I see from the message by George that others think of min as the origin
>of the use of EK. Therefore this addition.
