The Hebrew Shin in proper names is often changed to a double sigma in Greek translation (e.g., "Nashon" = NASSWN; Yashay = IASSAI; Menashsheh = MANASSHS, & Mashiach = MESSIAS, to name a few). I don't know how consistantly this was done throughout the LXX.
