I think Metzger and Carl (not a bad complement to put
you in the same group as Metzger, eh?), have somewhat
assessed p46 inaccurately. p46 clealy has "added" what
the scribe believed to be the implied subject, hO
QEOS. I find no warrant in concluding that the scribe
of p46 had attempted to "fix" this passage. True, the
scribe considered PANTA the D.O., but we know that
only by way of his clarifying addition of hO QEOS. I
can find no support for assuming the scribe of p46 was
doing anything more than providing his readers with
his understanding of the text. I suppose we could not
rule out the possibility that the ms or mss from which
he worked had hO QEOS, but as I stated earlier, I
think that hO QEOS as the implied subject of the verb
is contextual obligatory. I've not even read a good
follow up as to what PANTA as subject would mean.
Surely someONE is working things, not someTHING.
