1. Why is ARCIEREIS translated "priests" by the NET Bible?
 ________

There is for hOI ARCIEREIS and variant reading - hOI hIEREIS read by 323 945
pc and the original D (uncial MS) reads hO instead of hOI for the definite
article, a slight change. I should of checked this first. Appearantly
scribes wanted to 'smooth' out the reading from pl. high priests to either
priests or the priest (D).

NET does not mention a TC (textual criticism) note on this and I am guessing
on this matter but I would doubt that these few external witnesses would
sway them to read "priests." Clearly the harder reading is "high priests."
NET simply does it to also smooth out the reading. It's the implied
understanding. They also put ARCIEREUS for "priest" at Heb 6:20

And I have some minor spelling corrections with my KATA that should read
KAQ' because of elision (omission) of the final vowel. Thus:
KAQ' ETOS = year by year, every year, annually; KAQ' EKKLHSIAN; KAQ'
ENIAUTON (Heb 9:25).
