Many thanks to Carl Conrad for mentioning Robert W. Funk's out-of-print Beginning-Intermediate Grammar of Hellenistic Greek, and for providing extensive excerpts. If any subscriber to this list has a copy in good condition for sale, please e-mail me the asking price. (I have already put in an order with a used book dealer).
Would anyone, but especially teachers of Greek, past and present, venture to say why this gem did not find a wider readership in academe? Perhaps this question about the suitability of a tool-of-the trade (so to speak) is considered off-topic. If so, I apologize, and withdraw the question.
