I was doing the following translation exercise from Shep 98:2 NUN DE hUPO
AGGELOU BLEPEIS, DIA TOU AUTOU MEN PNEUMATOS.
I assume that Shep means Shepherd of Hermas.
I found an online version at
http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/shepherd.html
I went to check my work and to see the context but this site skipped from
chapter 97 to 99.
first I translated this as; "but now you see by an angel, because he is of a
spirit (spiritual)" For this to be correct I would have expected TON AUTON
instead of TOU AUTOU.
Now I came up with; "but now you see by an angel, through the same spirit".
It still seems like a strange sentence but I do not have any idea about the
context.
Any thoughts?

I would like to be able to help you with this, but something is rotten in the
State of Denmark. The numbering system cannot be correct (to the best of my
knowledge). You might check this at

Houston, we have a problem. I notice that this no longer appears in
polytonic Greek characters but has "little boxes" which indicate that the font does
not support the characters. On viewing the source I find that it is no longer
designated as "Arial Unicode MS" but as "Times New Roman." I'm not sure how
this managed to migrate to this font. If you wish to use the pages anyway, I
suggest you download them then edit them in WordPad or Word. You can do a
simple find and replace which shouldn't take long or require much effort. Simply
"Edit" "Replace" then enter "Times New Roman" in the top and "Arial Unicode MS"
(or another polytonic Greek font if you have another) in the bottom. Choose
"Replace All" and save. You can then view the text properly.
