Craig,
Don't apologize for everything you think you omitted.
Everybody has *learned* where to look for information on the right time.
Those things are learned by doing it and if you are a novice it is normal
that you will omit or forget things. It's the way we all started.
Concerning your translations:
"that if one should estimate and gather together all earthly weal from the
creation of the world"
"that if one sums up all the happiness together from the time men have first
existed and collects it into one whole"
I presume that the first translator has put TWi LOGWi together with SULLABWN
in "estimate".
In the second translation TWi LOGWi is hidden in "sums up". It is of course
a free rendering of SULLABWN TWi LOGWi, I think.
The addition of TWi LOGWi gives some emphasis to the fact that you have to
think seriously if you would like to estimate all the happiness since the
creation.
A parallel for (TWi) LOGWi with the meaning "by reasoning" can be found in
Plato, Res publica 529d: hA DH LOGWi MEN KAI DIANOIAi LHPTA, OYEI D' OU.
See Liddell-Scott, s.v. LOGOS IV 1 for more instances.

Thank you for the reply!
Okay, I just did a search of NT, and found AF hOU in a few places which seem
similar (eg Luke 13:25, 24:21, Rev 16:18). Should have done that before I
suppose!
Regarding TWi LOGWi, here are the two translations I have (should have put
those in before too..):
"that if one should estimate and gather together all earthly weal from the
creation of the world"
"that if one sums up all the happiness together from the time men have first
existed and collects it into one whole"
What does TWi LOGWi add to the meaning of the phrase, different to SULLABWN
on its own (as if TWi LOGWi wasn't there at all)? My guess is it is saying
something like "bring together with the reason" (= "estimate" or "sums up"
in translations above), perhaps kind of like arithmetic addition, as opposed
to a physical collection?
Would there be some other similar usages of TWi LOGWi that I could look up?
(Not that I doubt you, just for my own peace of mind, to get a better feel
for it myself!) I did a quick look in LXX and NT but didn't notice anything.
