Carl, I think this is an important point. Since Heb 1.8 is a quote from 
Ps 45.6 in the LXX, the answers to the grammatical and syntactic 
questions concerning Heb 1.8 are more likely to be found IN the LXX, 
particularly in the Psalms. I think the parallels you have cited are 
very instructive. And I think Harold's point in his last post in this 
thread, that in the Psalms the nominative of QEOS is used not only many 
times but EXCLUSIVELY in address, makes the form of QEOS in Heb 1.8 
virtually irrelevant. I must say too that arguments from silence--when 
there actually IS silence--are fundamentally flawed, since, as Harold 
also pointed out, we have a limited corpus of material.
