[B-Greek] QEOS a proper name?

To a more methodological point: what linguistic cues, if any, would we 
expect to see if Paul were using XRISTOS as a name rather than a title? 
  In English, the use of the definite article is significant, but it 
certainly doesn't have the same significance in Greek.  The more I 
think of it, the more I can't see how one would tell the difference in 
Greek without appealing to semantic considerations.

Did Koine speakers perhaps regard proper names as somehow akin to 
titles?
