Just further on the topic of QEOS as a proper name. The LXX used a title KURIOS, for the Hebrew name of God, Yahweh. In this case, would not KURIOS/title (LXX) = Yahweh/name (MT). The LXX usage of KURIOS could also reflect the Hebrew practice of substituting the Tetragrammaton with the term ADONAI, but then again, in this case, ADONAI which is titular becomes a substitute for the Divine Name. It appears that the same thing is happening in the MT. If one compares Ps.14 and Ps.53 which are parallel Pss., there is an interchange between "Yahweh" and "God" (Elohim):
a) Ps.14:2 (NIV)
The LORD [Yahweh] looks down from heaven
on the sons of men
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
Ps.53:2 (NIV)
God looks down from heaven
on the sons of men
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
b) Ps.14:4
Will evildoers never learn-
those who devour my people as men eat bread
and who do not call on the LORD [Yahweh] ?
Ps.53:4
Will the evildoers never learn-
those who devour my people as men eat bread
and who do not call on God?
c) Ps.14:7
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the LORD [Yahweh] restores the fortunes of his people,
let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
Ps.53:6
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When God restores the fortunes of his people,
let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
