some language learning issues here.
If you like flashcards, they're yours.
Personally, in most languages I've worked with, I find that seeing a word in
context is crucial. With what words is it used? How is it used? Concordances
are very useful here, though when unfiltered, they require a relatively
large vocabulary.
Hi Randall
I did notice that, Id get the definitions down, then when we were in our
class room / my home, we'd come to see a word and I didn't have it down like
I had when I saw it on the cards and memorized the cards. But Randall, I'm
new to this and never tried to memorize before, actually thought I couldn't do
it and was having a difficult time seeing them in the Mounce book only. When
I made a few cards I remembered all the words within 2 days approx. 20 - 30
words. So, they seem to work, but am willing to try anything, if you have
other sugg. I cannot read yet, only baby sentences. We only started 4 weeks ago
and are in chapter 7, which gets the first full paradigm down with all
articles. Mounce, if you are not familiar with him, instead of teaching the 50 or
so paradigms, teaches the one, with 8 rules that must, must be all memorized,
like all first dec fem words only end in alpha & ata, all neuter words are
the same in nom & acc sg and the same in pl. I don't know if you'd agree with
him, but the trouble I see the guys having with one paradigm, to learn 51 they
might not come back to class this Saturday :)
Thanks Randall, I'm blessed to be conversing with a scholar like yourself
and other's on this list, Thank you all, also on this list.
