This is mildly interesting, but it seems that we have a problem with
reading "God is your [his] throne." Precisely what would this mean?
That he sits on God? (I'm not simply being ironic, I don't understand
this). This juxtiposition of "throne" and "God" appears only here and in
the Ps from which it is taken so there is no evidence elsewhere of God
ever being referred to as a "throne." Sometimes it is said that God is a
"rock" or some other imagery, but never "throne." To assert that it is
so here would require some evidence / argumentation. If, however, one
cannot accept the equation God = throne, then it seems that hO QEOS must
be understood as a vocative. Can anyone see any other solution?
