However, this is to me an example of a hyper-grammatical emphasis. I
feel quite comfortable with the notion that a late first century writer
and reader, inspired or other-wise, and a first century reader would be
equally satisfied with APO, for instance.
Yes, I remember from my first flashcards that APO is away from and EK
is out of, but as soon as we learned that, my magnificent teacher
(David Martinez at Chicago University) stuck our noses in Xenephon
where we discovered how things are in the real world.
I think the tensive ambiguity of Revelation is quite intentional.
