Hey Joshua,
A good and inexpensive book that will walk you through the basics of
diagramming is "Principles and Practice of Greek Exegesis" by John D. Grassmick. Its
very inexpensive, between 5$ and 10$. In that book Grassmick also has
complete diagrams for the book of Colossians. Something else worth checking out is
"KoineWorks Diagramming" by Lexel Software. This software is designed to teach
a student how to diagram. It breaks everything up into lessons in which the
student learns how the diagrams work then has to diagram passages he is given.
The software also has a library of PDF files (which can be read with Adobe
Acrobat, which is free [www.adobe.com]) which contain diagrams of passages and
written tutorials. The software is also totally interactive and is about 20$.
Unfortunately the software does not provide tools to diagram. So you can't
just diagram anything you want, the only diagramming you can do with it is in
the lessons it gives you.
Both of those things are available at the Dallas Theological Seminary
bookstore (you can find it at www.dts.edu, just look for the bookstore). Though,
last I checked the KoineWorks software wasn't in stock, but give it a try, its
well worth it.
If your looking for software which will actually provide you with diagramming
tools I would suggest BibleWorks if you have a PC or Accordance if you have a
Mac. They are both geared toward exegesis and deal primarily with the
original languages of the Bible. I'm not sure how much Accordance is, but I know
that BibleWorks is $300 and worth every penny.
Take care!
