My two bits on this.
A few weeks ago I did a highlight comparison on BibleWorks 6.0 between
Modern Greek NT and the NA27th edition. I found so many words were spelled
the same way between these two languages. So one huge advantage for using
modern Greek pronunciation would be that we would have a lot of vocabulary
that would directly transfer into a contemporary spoken language. This
multi-use sure would be handy if one was on a trip to Greece.or even just
visiting a Greek restaurant here in the USA. I wish my teachers had used
Modern Greek pronunciation instead of the Erasmus method. I decided awhile
ago to relearn my pronunciation and am consciously retraining myself to use
Modern Greek. Further.I wish that bible software programs offered us the
option of getting the sound files for words using authentic modern Greek
speakers..because then the flash card system could double as a language
training tool.or at least as a vocabulary tool.
