Bret, thanks.  I don't have Metzger's book, but I have Warren Trenchards 
Complete Vocabulary Guide to the GNT which I am told is very similar. 
Vocabulary isn't near the problem for me than figuring out the structure 
of a sentence.  I finished Mounce's BBG, and I have worked through I 
John and then started in Mark, but I got detoured in 1 Peter (which is 
more difficult than I John and Mark for me). I do have Mounce's Reader 
but I am too impatient for it.  I like to jump in and struggle.  My plan 
is to go through Mark and then John.  I was just trying to get an 
overview of the big picture so I can stay away from where I shouldn't
