Stephen,
Regardless of how good and effective a given manual or instruction guide is,
it will have weaknesses. Moreover, any given work is theologically biased,
even if only slightly biased. For that matter, so are Bible translations.
The older work by Reinecker and Rogers was compact and concise. The older
work was strictly a lingustic key and the newer work is a linguistic and
exegetical key. The new edition has commentary, explanations, insights from
social scientific criticism, and history interpretation. I find the new
edition to be reasonably balanced in its commentary and explanations. Also, a
linguistic key is not a substitute for a lexicon (e.g., BADG).
