Eric Sowell has a post of some interest on his blog, "The Coding
Humanist" (http://thecodinghumanist.blogspot.com/) dated Sunday,
August 14 with the heading: "Why Learn Greek." Eric is beginning to
teach a Beginning Greek course at his church and has apparently been
pondering that question. It is one that we've discussed again and
again over the years in this our forum, probably not yet for the last
time. I'm not trying to start a new thread so much as to call
attention to what strikes me as a pretty judicious accounting of what
abilities of the student of Biblical Greek learning Greek should and
should not be expected to enhance -- sort of along the lines of "a
little Greek can be a dangerous thing" but it can deepen the
sensitivity to nuances of the Greek text.
