Hello to Kat, to all B-Greekers, and to all subscribers to
greekstudy at nxport.com
Since I am replying to a message that was posted on the B-Greek list,
I presume it is not too far off topic. And since it also applies to
subscribers to greekstudy at nxport.com, I ask you to forgive the
cross-posting
I had considered starting a new Machen group in September, after I
have recovered from the general disarray caused by moving to a new
house in a new city. If, however, someone else wants to moderate the
new group, I will gladly defer until a later time.
I propose to proceed slowly and thoroughly. If I moderate the group, I
will assign both the Greek-to-English and the English-to-Greek
Exercises. It is my personal belief that the English-to-Greek
Exercises are a great aid to learning vocabulary and grammar.
Lessons I (Greek Alphabet) and II (Rules of Accents) should be studied
on your own with no written assignments to be submitted.
Lesson 3, Exercise 1 (Greek-to-English) will be due Thursday,
September 22, by midnight UCT (GMT); that is, 7:00 PM Eastern Standard
Time. I presume this will give potential participants sufficient time
to get the textbook.
Assignments will be due each week on Thursday, with Exercise 1
(English) the first week and Exercise 2 (Greek) the second. At that
rate, it will take 62 weeks (plus time off for major holidays) to
complete the book.
Anyone interested, please contact me personally [please keep this
correspondence off the B-Greek list] at
abaronow at insightbb.com (Please note the first letter of my username;
it is different from the one in the header of this message.) Each is
valid; I use two mailboxes.
OR send your response and comments to the greekstudy email list, so

Testament, please respond as suggested above. Please do not respond to
the B-Greek email list.
