Agent can be expressed with PARA and the dative or just the dative
but it is not as common as UPO with the genitive in my experience. N.
Turner lists some of these with just the dative. Possible is Luke
23:15 ESTIN PEPRAGMENON AUTWi. The well known "led by the Holy
Spirit" in Rom 8:14 PNEUMATI QEOU AGONTAI (cf. Gal 5:18). He also
mentions Gen 19:19 (LXX) and to round out the Hellenistic evidence,
Josephus in Ant. 11.206 hHMIN DEDHLOTAI. In the case of 2 Pet 3:14,
while this is possible, the idea is more likely to be a dative of
sphere "in him" meaning something like "as a Christian" or even
implying Christ mysticism, "in union with him."
