[B-Greek] Differences among BDAG editions?

I like the 3rd edition much more than the previous editions. It does,
however, reflect current culture more and so is politically correct
more. See some of the recent reviews for specific examples and decide
for yourself.

BAGD (hereafter called "the 2nd edition") has been a very useful
resource. BDAD (hereafter called "the 3rd edition") is a newer and
improved model building upon what went before. The 2nd edition didn't
cease being useful the moment the 3rd edition came off the presses. As
a
matter of fact, I use the 2nd edition more than the 3rd because I have
the 2nd on my computer but I haven't broken down and purchased the 3rd
edition for my computer. My print edition of the 3rd simply isn't as
handy. If your choice is getting the 2nd edition or none at all, by all
means get the 2nd edition. If, however, you want the improvements
offered in the 3rd and can make use of them, GO FOR IT! Let's say you
were in the market for a car. One was an older but serviceable car in
good condition. the second was a newer model with more bells & whistles
which also gets better mileage. Both will get you to your destination,
but the newer one might be more pleasant to drive and cost a bit less in
gas. Which are you going to to choose? That probably depends on your
budget.

One word of caution. I wouldn't get anything abridged or prior to the
2nd edition.
