Hi b-greek,

Stephen Carlson
>The PRECISE PARALLEL NEW TESTAMENT, ed. John R. Kohlenberger III (Oxford University Press, 1995) presents the Greek text in parallel with the King James, Rheims, Amplified, NIV, NRSV, NAB, and NASB translations. This makes a total of eight.
>It is a nice way to compare some of the most use translations with the Greek. (Note: many of the translations, especially the KJV and Rheims, used a different Greek text.)

Even though this was a month ago, and perhaps technical, wouldn't the Rheims have been translated from the Latin Vulgate text ? In a scholarly work you could show a Greek equivalent to the Latin but it was not the base text used by the translators.
