I think Carl answered your question. ESTE SESWSMENOI is a periphrastic
construction equal to a perfect passive indicative. Just thought I
would mention that you can get a good summary of the periphrastic
constructions (finite verb [of EIMI, GINOMAI, hUPARCW] + participle =
finite tense) in Wallace, pp. 647ff. He includes a helpful chart. I'll
use EIMI here for illustrative purposes:
Present of EIMI + Present Participle = Present Finite Tense
Imperfect of EIMI + Present Participle = Imperfect Finite Tense
Future of EIMI + Present Participle = Future Finite Tense
Present of EIMI + Perfect Participle = Perfect Finite Tense
Imperfect of EIMI + Perfect Participle = Pluperfect Finite Tense
