Luke 21:8 hO DE EIPEN: BLEPETE MH PLANHQHTE: POLLOI GAR ELEUSONTAI
EPI TWi ONOMATI MOU LEGONTES: EGW EIMI, KAI: hO KAIROS HGGIKEN. MH
POREUQHTE OPISW AUTWN.

Note that KAI is set off by puctuation before and after. UBS3 uses
two commas and NA27 has ", KAI :". The purpose of the punctuation is
to separate the two sayings EGW EIMI and hO KAIROS HGGIKEN. So we
have the POLLOI ... LEGONTES EGW EIMI, KAI: hO KAIROS HGGIKEN.

Logically, how do we map "the many" to the two sayings? Will every
member of the set "the many" make both declarations EGW EIMI and hO
KAIROS HGGIKEN or do we have a unspecified and potentially complex
mapping where some of "the many" will say EGW EIMI and others will
say hO KAIROS HGGIKEN and still others will say both.

In other words is Luke's Jesus telling us to beware of those saying
hO KAIROS HGGIKEN or is he telling use to beware of those who say EGW
EIMI and hO KAIROS HGGIKEN?

This is a syntax question, not a synoptic or source critical or
redaction critical question.
