Agreed.

This was also my take on it. If Luke had intended to make this  
explicit he could have used a construction like we find in  Matt.  
16:14 hOI DE EIPAN: hOI MEN IWANNHN TON BAPTISTHN, ALLOI DE HLIAN,  
hETEROI DE IEREMIAN H hENA TWN PROFHTWN. However by using a simple  
KAI to join the two sayings he leaves it somewhat open ended.

I am not quite sure about the logic of the punctuation.
