In your third suggestion I cannot reconcile your syntax analysis with  
your translation. What do you mean by "hAUTH ESTIN in connection with  
the darkness"? Do you want to make TOU SKOTOUS a neuter genitive the  
predicate of hAUTH a nominative feminine when there are two  
nominative feminines hH hWRA KAI hH EXOUSIA close at hand? Your  
translation doesn't reflect this.

ESTIN hUMWN is not a constituent.

The third alternative needs some clarification.
