[B-Greek] Contrasting themes of comfort and threat in 1John

Kevin, welcome to the list. You should read, at your earliest

where the guidelines governing membership and correspondence on the
list are set forth. One point of note is that you do need to append a
full-name signature to all messages which you send to the list.
Another is that our discussion focuses on the Greek text of the
Bible: GNT and LXX and related Greek literature, and we focus upon
understanding the text as a Greek text, not on background and not on
theological ramifications. If your concern is chiefly with
interpretation of themes in the 1 John, this is not the appropriate
forum -- perhaps others will advise you in off-list responses of
lists where you may do that more properly than here.
