15 IWANNHS MARTUREI PERI AUTOU KAI KEKRAGEN LEGWN: hOUTOS HN hON
EIPON: hO OPISW MOU ERCOMENOS EMPROSQEN MOU GEGONEN, hOTI PRWTOS MOU
HN. 16 hOTI EK TOU PLHRWMATOS AUTOU hHMEIS PANTES ELABOMEN KAI CARIN
ANTI CARITOS: 17 hOTI hO NOMOS DIA MWUSEWS EDOQH, hH CARIS KAI hH
ALHQEIA DIA IHSOU CRISTOU EGENETO. 18 QEON OUDEIS hEWRAKEN PWPOTE:
MONOGENHS QEOS hO WN EIS TON KOLPON TOU PATROS EKEINOS EXHGHSATO.

It looks like the direct speech starts with hOUTOS HN hON EIPON:
followed by an imbedded quote. Origen or no Origen there is no quoted
speech which is a complement of EXHGHSATO in verse 18.
