I am sorry, I misunderstood the point you made (and thus put
my foot in my mouth again with my response). I was studying
the use of ekeinos and found its usage to be altogether able to
refer to an atecedent referent noun in a previous clause (oh man
I look stupid right about now).

So, what you are saying is that ekeinos is definately referring to
the only begotten and cannot be referring to theos? (in the view I
was presenting that is). Can it be that it could refer back to theos
if theos was teh object of the Only Begotten's declaration (if indeed
  John the Baptist is speaking)?

I am sorry for the misuderstanding and I will try to be "slow to speak"
in responding to you in the future.

  Yours truly,
  Jason Kerrigan
